I cannot believe how I actually survived almost a whole day without food, except for the milk tea drink I had at around lunch time. Just a while ago I made myself some beef pastrami sandwich with lettuce, tomato slices, and cheese. That dealt with my hunger and cravings until we started talking about milk tea and food.
So how does that relate to this post? I was actually undecided on what to blog about next because there are so many things I wanna write about and good food I wanna share with you guys, now that I’m hungry, the first thing that popped into mind was pesto. I love pesto! Who doesn’t? (Well, maybe people who don’t like eating greens, but whatever, I bet they’ll love pesto too) I made some pesto just the other night. I make my own now because it’s a lot cheaper, and way better and fresher than those you can buy from the supermarket. Good thing I already made some in advance, so I can just use it on the grilled chicken breast/pecho I’m about to prepare right after I finish this blog. The finish product will probably look like this:

What makes pesto so great?
- It’s so easy to prepare. Get some basil leaves, some garlic, pine nuts (or peanuts, if you can’t find them fancy pine nuts), parmesan cheese, and olive oil. There’s no exact measurement, it would really depend on how you want it to taste. Just chop/grind all the ingredients together, and voila, you get pesto. I’m no Italian expert, but this is how I make my pesto, and it works for my taste. There are lots of recipes available online if you wanna experiment on different ingredients.
- It can go with anything. You can put it on rice, pasta, chicken, fish, bread, etc. It’s really good on pasta, with or without meat. Restaurants usually serve pesto pasta with grilled chicken or shrimps, just because it’s heavenly like that.
- It’s healthy. It’s green, it’s fresh, and it’s olive-oil-based. So compared to other pasta sauces/dips this is one of the healthier bets.
- It’s yummy! Smells good, tastes good. Need I say more?
For now, I leave you at that. I must make my Pesto on Pecho.
